About Me
My name is Karisa Brown. I am 25 years old and a student at the California State University of Monterey Bay. I am currently pursuing a degree in Communications with an emphasis in Media Relations. My current position is at New Era Communication as an Account Coordinator and Social Media Specialist.
I love the camera, whether in front or behind it. Hence, I get my passion for creating photography, videography, and the editing process behind them. I am just as enthusiastic about social media as the next millennial (plus more). However, I think that I stand out because of my adoration for and expertise with social media beginning at such a young age.
Whether the content is an Instagram post, a tweet, a YouTube video, or an informal Snapchat, I try to make the content enjoyable. Making someone remember a post out of the hundreds of posts they see on an average day is very difficult, but that is my goal; to be remembered.
With my degree, I hope to create a social platform where digital creators can network, collaborate, and get advice and knowledge from Public Relations professionals on branding themselves and pitching and communicating with brands regarding sponsorships.
In the meantime, I am continuing to further my knowledge and experience by running a business. I own Academe Boutique. Academe is a blog and boutique dedicated to helping women feel most confident in the workplace through fashion.
